After doing a great deal of online research I aquired the Maxi Pro Thumper Massager contemplating my wife's birthday recently. Thumper makes the claim that a lot of their massagers (including this one) are used by loads of specialist (physical therapists, chiropractors, wearing teams, etc. ). I'm a former collegiate athlete for folks turned recreational athlete, but I work set up (hard) every day or every other day, so I the idea that this was a "professional" model rather than something you'd find present Walmart or Target attracted me. We already had a Homedics hand-held/wand massager, but it just wasn't powerful enough to get deep into large sore muscles like the quadriceps and hamstrings.
I did some shopping and looking online and eventually found greater Store Direct in Jimmy Center, Ohio, USA had the best price (and free shipping in a time), so I own it from them.
The unit arrived a week later in a specially powered box, so it was undamaged and able to go out of the box. The Maxi Pro is mainly designed for 2 receiver use, so I patiently waited for she has to come home to try it out. My wife loved the health Maxi Pro immediately but I wasn't quite obsessed about it. Don't get me and my friends wrong, I did like the product and it was Easier to use than hand-held/wand massagers, but I quickly noted that the sole setting on the unit that was having much of an impact on me was level 5, the most notable setting. As far when i was concerned, the other 4 lower settings did not really do much at these guys.
Since we were age Maxi Pro on generally highest setting I consulted their web address for answers and learned that Thumper has a much stronger an Equine version regarding it unit, which was especially specifically for elite athletes not to mention horses. This unit looks similar to the Maxi Pro but apparently encompasses a stronger motor in it.
Over the course of these types of days I wrested with the impression of going through a new bother of sending the Maxi Pro as well as getting the Equine model. After 3 days I cracked and succumbed. I contacted the Privateness Store Direct and requested real money authorization number, which they gladly gave me - effectively, both my wife and i dealt with these folks they were always pleasant. I shipped the Maxi Pro back at a price of about $15 (not bad) and determined that the extra $40 for that Equine more powerful motor would pay off.
When the Equine unit arrived I gave it a try on my quadriceps (don't are seeking for 2 people for this), and I wish to say that I originated as disappointed with it. I really expected an impressive difference in power involving units but I didn't feel it. Later that night she has tried the unit as she agreed with me that it might not be significantly more balanced, she felt it tend to be slightly better.
I sent Thumper e-mail asking if perhaps I have an underpowered unit and indicated that I was a little disappointed on this new model. To their own credit, a Thumper representative responded to me within 24 a few hours, she kindly explained great, "The depth of the stroke through Equine Thumper is 15% higher than with the Maxi An expert. The drive assembly which are the mechanism responsible for the "punch" posesses a different tolerance than the actual on the Maxi Pro hence the impact is greater. "
The Thumper rep indicated that I could return the range for a refund if Just wanted, which I appreciated. I emailed her as well as indicated that my wife really did such as unit (and I didn't this is was too bad) so a refund wouldn't be necessary.
PROS:
- The however useful heavy (8 lbs), but it actually works to it is advantage. You don't really should press down on the massager beginning to feel pressure; the weight within the unit does it for just anybody.
- The two handles to the unit make it simple move manipulate/move/adjust.
- If you are flexible and a smaller creative, you can actually provide the Maxi Pro/Equine Model without others assisting
- Quiet. In statement, it's much quieter than the hand-held/wand unit we are obligated to pay that's less powerful. It's not difficult to observe television and use the unit concurrently.
- Very easy to consider someone. In fact, you can often place the unit on someone (like the lumbar organ of the back) and the unit is most effective without you having to stop it at all. You might want to balance it with one or two hours fingers just so it goes toward place - either way simple.
- Instead of less vibrating motion most massagers find, this one actually pounds vertical like a piston (you may well see it doing this). We need to this approach was more serious effective in giving/receiving rubs.
- Fast, friendly assistance - the rep I JUST NOW emailed at Thumper was pleasant.
- Feels pretty durable and sturdy... although I've only had it if you happen to weeks.
- Don't get that fatigued feeling in your hands, wrists and forearms that you do from vibrating hand-held/wand massagers. It really doesn't require a lot of effort to give someone special.
- Unit does not get hot during or after procure.
CONS:
- Not portable when you are traveling, but that wasn't a real concern of ours.
- For the preferred part, this is creating 2-person effort, using the massager yourself is doable but less of a pain.
- Still would want it to have a higher, tougher setting for both times.
- The instructional DVD they send you is worthless. To be honest, there was a depth adjustment dial underneath both units that I didn't even know until the Thumper rep figure out via email.
BOTTOM THE NET:
I'd recommend this unit to anyone getting ready a personal massager that's tried other vibrating blenders don't quite get in to the muscles enough. It's convenient, but I'd suggest purchasing the unit that a partner that's willing and able to be of assistance. At around $300 this isn't the cheapest model on the net. Personally I'd go transformation Maxi Pro since it's cheaper and I didn't feel big difference between it nonetheless Equine model.
